With support from the team, our work experience student created a detailed Power BI dashboard. This comprehensive tool includes summaries of the group stages, knockout stages, and fixtures & results, allowing you to explore how different teams have performed over the years.
Reflections on the Experience
During my time at Objective, my limited expectations continued to be exceeded as I was met and introduced to a very welcoming team and was given the freedom to perform and learn different tasks catered to what I desired to gain from my experience. Although extremely difficult to choose from, between my time spent creating a Euros themed Power BI presentation learning how to use its system and features along the way including excellent knowledge into SQL databases, to shadowing a talented developer gaining useful insight and first-hand experience into problem solving completed on a Day-To-Day basis. I would have to say my favourite and most enjoyable task was amending and creating a basic programmable game, where I was given 1-1 help learning actual code as well as a detailed breakdown into the code broadening my knowledge and furthering my understanding into the logic needed in coding complicated applications. I very much enjoyed this hands-on experience as it was exactly the type of knowledge I hoped to receive during my time.
The overall work environment was friendly and very helpful answering and assisting many of my queries. Being much more relaxed and independent than I expected, it has given me experience working in a healthy workspace observing how different personalities work together, which will serve useful as I look to continue my ambitions into a future in the IT industry. I really appreciate the experience objective have provided for me, from the excellent hospitality to helping me define my future career goals, I cannot thank them enough.
